“Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authority except from God and those which exist are instituted by God.” (Romans 13:1-2)

KCPF Governance Committee

Nothing good comes easy; this has been evident through this journey that proved not to end.

As the Kenya Christian Professionals Forum we take this opportunity to congratulate His Excellency, President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta on his re-election for another term in office.

This would mean rest to a lot of people but judging from the person we’ve known for the last five years, it means rolling up of sleeves and getting to work. As a nation we all have questions we would like to be answered, dreams we would want to be implemented to become a reality and to live with the hope that tomorrow will be better than yesterday. All this sums up to one thing Mr. President, a continuation from where you left.

Your commitment and dedication to this country has bore much fruit regarding the fact that leadership is based on sacrifices actions and not just words. Despite the development and change we’ve experienced under your governance, a number of issues still remain a big threat to our country. Matters of corruption and unemployment have been a thorn in our flesh as a country for ages. What is really going to be different this time Mr. President?

Change and development can best be defined by those at the grass root level, that mama mboga who might need a bursary to better the lives of her children. Is there transparency and accountability in our institutions or people still don’t have and confidence in the things termed as government resources.

Our cost of living, food, Eurobond saga and the attacks we’ve had as a nation continue to linger in the mind of every Kenyan. Strategies put in place need to be re-visited. We believe new and better ones will be put in place and the ones that dint work, different strategies are used. This will only happen if we admit that as a nation we are not even close to the place we would want to be as a country starting from the locals.

As the KCPF we wish you all the best as you start your 2nd term in office His Excellency President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta.
